Corespun Woven Garden Seat

The canvas seat on my little foldable garden seat gave out.

In February of  this year I went with a group from Fiber Guild of the Savannahs to Spiritfiberworks, a minimill in Cleveland GA. The owner no longer has a machine to spin yarrn, but we watched our mohair fiber from Oatland Island being processed into roving for spinning and a fat corespun.  We also had a couple of fun workshops and some spinning instruction happened! There were also animals to be fed, petted, and admired.

I used some corespun to repair my garden seat/camp stool. I just did a simple plain weave. The corespun has a core of cotton twine and the wool is spun around it, in a perpendicular way. I am surprised how sturdy it is!
